open!
I was planning to report on-site, but it got delayed… I brought my laptop, but couldn’t get connected. Ended up writing articles on the plane and handling requests from a certain store… Finally, I made it to Las Vegas! It was filled with luxurious hotels, restaurants, and attractions. Casinos were everywhere, but I resisted the temptation to try my luck…
Here’s an update on the highly anticipated Yellowtail VIP invitation-only soft opening! I had the pleasure of tasting Akira’s dishes, and they were truly delightful. The menu was considerate even for someone like me, battling jet lag. Although I don’t drink alcohol, I couldn’t help but imagine how the flavors might have enhanced with a drink in hand! It felt like the ingredients were truly showcased. After the party, we had a brief chat about knives with Akira and his partner, Mr. Inoue.
The knife I mentioned earlier, “sharpening i think now” was actually for Akira. He used it on the day, and we got his feedback. Of course, the sharpness was excellent, and he mentioned that it reduced the sticking to the ingredients. However, it still didn’t feel like it was exactly what Akira had in mind! Tools are an extension of one’s hands, after all! Ultimately, you have to finish it with your own hands. The first day was a bit disorienting due to jet lag, but we stayed up until 2 in the morning, discussing various things. On the second day, we did a bit of sightseeing and had deep conversations about the future. The third day involved an overnight stay in San Francisco due to flight connections before returning home. It was quite a whirlwind tour, but we gained a lot from it. Now, onto the next steps! But before that, I need to update the special feature on SUISIN and update the WebShop. Lots to do!
