After the wedding reception

Today, we held a wedding reception for a friend at Uedaya! The master went through a lot of trial and error to ensure everything was perfect, and the newlyweds, as well as their friends, were extremely happy.

After the reception, I had a sort of planning meeting with the master. Amidst our discussions, the master said something that stuck with me: ‘I understand things because I’ve made many mistakes.’ He also mentioned that his experience with failures helps him teach fish handling classes through SUISIN more effectively: ‘Because I’ve failed, I can teach others more clearly.’

It’s natural to want to avoid mistakes, but learning from failure means you’re less likely to repeat it and more likely to succeed in the future. Teaching others is challenging, but those who have faced failures and learned from them can guide their students better, understanding where they might go wrong.

The key is to analyze the reasons for failure, learn from them, and continuously refine your techniques. It’s important to remain open to learning from others as well.

I’ve decided to embrace making many mistakes while I’m still young!
(Though, to be honest, I’m not that young anymore… LOL)
