To Nagoya

A week ago, on February 22nd, I visited the newly reopened Miura Hamono in Nagoya.
The store has a spacious layout, with a dedicated sharpening area where they can start working on knives as soon as they are brought in. Even if the shop gets busy, there’s plenty of room to browse knives comfortably.
They carry not only SUISIN but also a variety of knives from different makers, including chef’s knives and specialty blades. Whether you’re a professional chef or a passionate enthusiast, there’s something here for everyone!

A Mt. Fuji honyaki knife made by traditional craftsman Yoshikazu Ikeda was also displayed.

It looks like some young staff members have joined the team since the grand reopening, and they’re enthusiastically learning the art of sharpening.
Since they now have a dedicated sharpening area, I had the chance to try it out briefly.

The height of the sharpening station was just right for me, making for a very comfortable experience. It would be amazing if they could host sharpening workshops or events in the future!
I also had the opportunity to speak with President Miura about future plans, and I’m excited to share that a section of their display cases will be dedicated to ‘Tatsuya’s Secret’ – a SUISIN corner.
To start, I’ve sent them three Honbaduke-finished knives:

It’s not a flashy, mirror-polished edge—I’ve finished it with a smooth, refined touch.
The kireha is fully sharpened through, ensuring an outstanding cutting experience!
The package is scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning.
