Exploring the World of Summer Blacksmiths

It’s so hot! Sakai, where our company is located, feels especially hot today. I went to Mr. Doi’s factory today. I knew it would be hot, but it was even hotter than I thought. As I approached the furnace, it felt like being engulfed in a heatwave. There was Mr. Doi, heating the knives until they turned red and forging them… Sweat was dripping down his forehead and neck, visible even from a distance. But he kept on working tirelessly, pounding the knives on the anvil. ‘Getting older makes it tougher,’ he said with a laugh as he continued to work. I also took some photos with my DSLR camera. Maybe I’ll make a photo book someday! (lol)
