Feel the sharpness
I cut myself for the first time in a while. It wasn’t my finger this time but my palm (><). Here’s what happened: I was putting a 150mm Sabaki knife—made of Japanese steel—back in its box. Because it’s Japanese steel, it had been oiled to prevent rust while in storage until it’s shipped. It slipped smoothly, and the heel of the knife pierced my palm. The weight and momentum of the knife caused a few centimeters cut in my palm.
Our company’s kitchen knives, forgive the self-praise, they really do cut well, don’t they? Well, cutting well is great, but I ended up with a little mishap where the tip got stuck in the jaw area, so I unintentionally made a deeper cut. Can’t really round off the tip from a brand-new knife, can you? Except for specialty knives like ones for kids, I think most knives with tips are sharp. So, if you’re not planning to use it right away, it’s probably better to round it off as soon as you buy it.
It’s a long holiday starting tomorrow, but… I wonder if the seawater will stain. .
Well, it cut cleanly, so it might stick together in about two days!
