Hayate Light version
Lately, I’ve been working on various handle installations. The blade tang of a knife varies from one to the next, and there are so many different methods for embedding handles. It’s quite an intricate process.
During such moments, I can’t help but think that knives mass-produced with molds must be so much easier to handle, allowing for a quick assembly of numerous handles. But mastering the art of perfectly fitting non-standard handles is a unique skill in itself. Achieving consistency in the upward and downward slants, the golden ratio, is essential; otherwise, variations might crop up.
With all this in mind, I decided to create the ‘Light’ version of the Hayate.
I think it’s the perfect balance for people who like cutting with the weight of a knife.
