Rough and smooth blade

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how to create a blade that’s both rough and smooth at the same time. A sharp, serrated edge that you can’t even feel!

I know, it sounds impossible—totally contradictory! But I think I’m starting to see a glimmer of how it might work.

Unfortunately, I’m still not sure exactly why it’s happening, but once I figure it out, I’ll definitely share it on the blog!
