What I thought last night

Late at night, while writing an article on the final forging process, I had a thought. “Is it possible to create a thin knife with substantial weight?” Imagine feeling the weight of a 300mm Yanagiba, but in a 300mm FuguHiki knife… A knife that slices thinly requires excellent blade passage, not necessarily lightness. In reality, I believe a knife with some weight makes cutting easier and prevents hand fatigue. We might not achieve a surprising amount of weight, but by delving into what craftsmen say, it might be possible. I might get a “No way!” from craftsmen, but it’s worth discussing! Just asking, “Is that possible?” (^^b) If it could be done, it might give rise to something entirely new!
